Below Simcoe Falls. Mid April at peak spring run off. This a clear day, it is spray, not fog above the water. The water is going so fast, that it is a metre or more higher on the right side than the left, as the water does a sharp turn. By late summer it dries out.

The east entrance to the Portsmouth Olympic Harbour centre. Now a popular convention centre. This facility was built in 1969 for the 1976 sailing Olympics. The main Olympic events were held in Montreal. This site had it's own Olympic opening ceremony. This site is used annually for CORK Canadian Olympic-training Regata Kingston which draws competitors from around the world. by Steve Manders

Original Milestone along highway # 2 dated 1837. On one side, just visible is K V, meaning Kingston is 5 miles east. On the other side is N XVIII meaning Napanee is 18 miles west. The road had a crushed rock surface to control mud, a first in Ontario. I am not aware of any east of this one. There are at least 9 remaining, but the ones near Napanee are partly burried from landscaping. All are on the north side of the road. by Steve Manders
The Bay of Quinte at Deseronto. A popular boating destination, and place to relax. The Canadian Northern Railway built in 1912 ran through this park and joined the Bay of Quinte Railway (1881) just to the left side of this picture at Prince and Fifth street. It was abandoned in 1986. There was a large industrial complex at the junction area owned by the Rathburns of Deseronto. It burned down. by Steve Manders
