Location of the original Godfrey train station on the Kingston & Pembroke Railway, built in 1875, last used in 1960. The original post office was 150 m. south of here, and was called the Deniston P.O.. Chester Godfrey lived across the road on the right, in 1878. Highway # 38 was built in 1934 following the local township roads, and the Westport Road here was also here in 1878. That is the K&P trail just to the left of the orange truck, it uses the old K&P rail bed.

The K&P all purpose trail on the old K&P railway bed. Looking north at Godfrey. The railway construction started in Kingston in 1872 and reached here in 1875. It was known as Iron Junction then. The last mixed train was 1960, the last through freight train was 1961 and the rail was abandoned in 1986. by Steve Manders

The Sharbot Lake train station was built here in 1876. It had it's last passenger in 1960. The trail on the left is the K&P trail which goes from Kingston to Renfrew. The line was abandoned from Sharbot Lake to Titchborne in 1964. by Steve Manders
