The CP and CN trans-continental railways almost meet here and both cross the former Ottawa, Arnprior and Parry Sound Railway (OA&PS) railway bed, now the Rose Point Recreational Trail. The OA&PS railway was the bussiest railway in the world in 1910 with a freight train every 20 minutes from its docks on Georgian Bay to Montreal.
