Around 1902 my great grandparents moved to live in a very remote house called Cefn cam , situated high up on the mountain range above Ganllwyd, This move was a long journey, made with an overnight stop at a farm called Ffridd-bryn-Coch (on the Ganllwyd to Traws road), then a long walk over the hills above to Cefn cam itself.

Cefn cam is in ruins though all the walls are standing. It is incredibly remote and it was from here that my great Auntie walked down the mountain side to attend school in Ganllwyd. The journey being so long that they stayed down in the village at a house called Isfryn Monday to Thursday. They then walked all the way back home to Cefn cam on Friday by Glyn
