More affordable row housing built in1867, called Mozart Terrace. Municipal water was available in iron and lead pipes, sewage went through hand laid stone sewers, but it would have to have been heated by expensive wood until 1871 when coal was first available. Walls were not insulated, and the windows were single pane. The house was 21 years old before hydro was available for lights and telephone. T.V had to wait 60 more years, and the internet had to wait a century. by Steve Manders

Kinmount is a gem in the woods. Kinmount train station on the old Victoria Railway. It ran from here to Haliburton, 28 km. to the north, and linked to the IB&O railway to Bancroft 67 km. to the NE in 1910, and Lindsay to the south all that time. It was built from 1874 to 1878 and closed in 1960. The railway bed is now the Victoria Trail. by Steve Manders
