View down the creek draining Thirteen Island Lake. It was once an important native canoe route with a number of obstacles along the way. Beaver dams make it easier, flooding shallow areas. It could become impassible in dry summers requiring a long portage on foot. by Steve Manders
This grassy area has a stone embankmemt similar to the others built in the area by the logging industry after 1830. It was probably a staging area for logs gathered in the winter, to wait for the spring run off to take down the Napanee River. by Steve Manders

Entrance to the creek draining Thirteen and Thirty Island Lakes. This was once an important native canoe route between the Napanee River system and the Rideau River at Bedford Mills. Pine logs were also floated down the Napanee River from here, with many obstacles along the way. by Steve Manders
